The FBI had planted microphones on Russian spies. They were talking about their easy dealings with the Republicans and their meeting with Carter Page and how they were turning him into a Russian spy covertly.
Once again the lying Republicans are lying to cover their treachery against America.
Steve Kelley spreading the lies and complicit with the undermining of our democracy. In words of Donald Trump, Steve Kelley is an “enemy of the people.”
This is a telling editorial cartoon with wallop. The power comes from the set up in the first two panels. Neither is true to the facts, both distort reality. Sadly, this takes the snap out of your punch line.
The Republicans have changed the memo since they voted to release it. Repubs used to call themselves the “law and order” party and now they will undermine the FBI to protect Trump. Can’t wait to see what other Repubs are going down because of the Mueller investigation. Considering the panicked reaction to the info coming out about the NRA colluding with Russians to donate to Repubs (and some Dems), there may be quite a culling coming.
I know you’d love us to believe that they took some unverified rumors and used it an excuse to try to stop Trump’s election. Some of these people were under investigation before Trump even decided to run. You’re also conveniently omitting the fact that a federal judge has to review the evidence before granting or renewing a FISA warrant.
The FBI didn’t use questionable methods and unverified evidence to obtain surveillance authority from a FISA court to prevent Donald Trump from being elected president – they obtained it because there was an American citizen talking to Russian spies.
The damage that is going to be done isn’t in people’s faith in Federal law enforcement – the damage will be done to field agents who are trying to keep the people safe.
Mr. Corallo is planning to tell Mr. Mueller about a previously undisclosed conference call with Mr. Trump and Hope Hicks, the White House communications director, according to the three people. Mr. Corallo planned to tell investigators that Ms. Hicks said during the call that emails written by Donald Trump Jr. before the Trump Tower meeting — in which the younger Mr. Trump said he was eager to receive political dirt about Mrs. Clinton from the Russians — “will never get out.” That left Mr. Corallo with concerns that Ms. Hicks could be contemplating obstructing justice, the people said.
Give me a break. If the intent of the FBI had been to prevent Trump from winning, the FBI director could have just released the information that the Trump campaign was being investigated for its collusion with Russia instead of announcing that an investigation of Hillary had been re-opened. The investigation of Hillary (wrongly announced) was quickly re-closed with no charges, but the investigation of Trump (not revealed until after the election) is still going on and has already resulted in multiple indictments and guilty pleas.
What is happening in this country? The Trumpies and Republicans — the ones who were most assertive in demanding aggressive pursuit of FISA warrants — are now attacking the FBI and defending Russian interference in our elections. Can you imagine what the Trumpies and Republicans would be screaming if a President Hillary had been found to have extensive secret conversations with Russians and gave top secret classified information (that was the property of an ally nation) TO THE RUSSIANS, IN THE OVAL OFFICE?
Tricky Dick was a lot smarter than Trump, and we know how that ended. Trump and crew might enjoy their stay in the Trump Carribean resort he wants to keep open, at Gitmo.

You realize the Director of the FBI, the AG & the Deputy AG are all Trump appointees? All of them are saying this is partisan BS.

There’s times Kelley sounds sane. Then there’s most of the time, when he smokin’ dat right-wing populist herb.

This is laughable. S**tgibbon’s regime are worse liars than even the Reagan regime. I know the FBI and I’ll opt for their side of the story.

The memo is a crock, and of course leaves out that Republicans hired these guys first to discredit Hillary, as noted in Trump Tower meetings.
