Some years ago Trump said if the government shuts down it is the president’s fault.

Little elephant doesn’t play well with others. What he can’t steal he demands that it be handed to him.

The Republicans do not control the senate, because spending bills require 60 votes.

@pbuckland, some republicans have said that they will not vote for the spending bill, and, if they need Democrats to vote for it, they should invite their input.

If the Republicans offer a clean bill addressing Democractic concerns they will get the votes.

Hey we’re no longer demon rats, we’re demonrat liberals. I guess that makes demonrat an adjective.

Gotta say this: a party does not control the Senate unless it has 60 seats. That is conveniently forgotten when making that statement.

Republicans are whining that they can’t “do anything” in the Senate because those bad, old democrats keep filibustering and so the poor old Republicans can’t stop it ‘cause they don’t have 60 “votes” in the Senate to stop it! Here’s a “Hot News Flash” for the republicans! The G.O.P. hasn’t had 60 seats in the Senate since early in the last century, though they’ve had a Majority in the Senate many times! They were always able to get legislation passed until recently! What has changed? The Republicans have “forgotten” the art of “Compromise”! That’s how things got done before the Age of Ideology! Drop the “My Way or the Highway” crap, ‘cause you’ll probably NEVER have above a 59 count again, ever! But your blind adherence to “we’ll do it all by ourselves;we don’t NEED you guys!” MAY END up giving the Democrats over 60 seats, if you’re not careful, and wouldn’t THAT be fun?

^ Yeah. And the Republicans NEVER did anything like that when the Dems had control.
