Somehow I pictured that guy in a house inside a bubble with the germs floating outside it. Older folks often self quarantine during flu seasons by avoiding travel except for absolute necessities and then very carefully.

I get a flu shot every year. This year, especially, I am trying to be careful. After I go shopping, I worry for a couple of days until I’m sure I didn’t catch anything.

I must be weird. I had the old people’s flu shot, I’m 77, and I never even think about being careful or stay-at-home. And I may yet regret it.

The real petri dishes are elementary school classrooms, especially the kindergartners and first graders.
