I was totally with Hammy until he got to the part about not understanding Verne. There’s NO WAY that will ever happen.

Why are you people up so early reading these things? Shouldn’t you be getting ready for church/temple/Gurdwara or something?

As long as it is in the part of the week that is the weekend, I’m all for it. I’ll have to study up on my Conquistador, though.

“Talk Like a Pirate Day” is so old-fashioned.

I’m sure that any number of Amerinds would have been “willing” to “help” carry any conquistador’s ‘spear’! For a little while, at any rate, before we “gave it back” to them. I think this was the ‘origin’ of the somewhat discredited phrase, “Trust us – we’re from the government and we’re here to help you.”

Where does Hammy find time for all these things? He’s usually so busy with his social justice work for Hamnesty International!
