Actually, I gave someone a new fruit tree this morning as a housewarming present (after carefully finding out first that they would be totally thrilled by that, and what type of fruit they wanted). It was deeply gratifying to spend money on something that will be blessing that family as long as they live there, and another family after they’re gone someday long in the future. To be able to buy something permanent and good in someone else’s life is such a rare and cheering thing.
