Cute, but you missed a golden opportunity for this next-to-last (?) Sunday panel. Here’s the set-up: Phil, nervous about proposing to Fritzi, seeks out different locations looking for the “perfect spot:” Gower’s Diner, the bridge across the pond, etc., dropping to his knees each time, rehearsing the words and getting stares from the passers-by… and of course the three rocks. At one such location – could be anywhere – he’s going through his speech when who should walk in on this (unseen, ’natch) but Fritzi herself. The payoff, of course, is he hears from behind is “I will.” And it could end in a pratfall, just like it did when he and Fritzi first met again at the Faith Mission.
It’s a variation on the old joke: A kid has a lemonade stand where he charges $10 a glass. When someone objects to the price, he says: “All I gotta sell is one glass.”

BTW, Mr. G, one thing I will miss about your hand in this venerable comic is the music you brought into the mix. Nice touch.
