-10 degrees this morning, don’t know nor do I want to know the wind chill. I looked up the Mt Washington Observatory for the summit conditions: temp -23, wind 70 mph, wind chill -69. Glad I’m down here.
Today maybe cold but, there are people getting ready to go swimming, the annual penguin plunge in Burlington. No thank you.
It got all the way up to 49 yesterday, and only down to 40 this morning. The doom and gloom hasn’t started yet for this weekend. Don’t mind that at all!
We watched an episode of “Planets” on the Science or History channel. This time it was about The Ninth Planet. Absolutely amazing the progress we are achieving with new telescopes and electronic measurements. It might take another 20 years to get a location and send a probe by it to see what it’s made of, but it sure is exciting. One of our eldest granddaughter’s college classes this semester is Astrophysics. Maybe I can get her to explain a lot of stuff to me!
All’s quiet here. The daytime temp is still in the low 70’s.
I baked a cake for our Phase 10 group yesterday. Considering I used the wrong sized pan and a convection oven that doesn’t work right, it turned out okay. I even used a tube of decorating icing and wrote “Phase 10” on the top of it. Devil’s food with dark chocolate fudge icing. Yum!
Very cold today with temp at 20 and some wind. At least it’s sunny.Tomorrow will be in mid 40’s.
Nothing much going on today. Have to plane a little off the bottom edge on a door that started to scrape on the floor.Then go to church at four and after that, take it easy.
