Actually Adam, when you were a kid, they still called them Christmas catalogs. And Christmas trees, and Christmas lights, and Christmas pageants – even in public schools!

I used to love to fantasize as I turned through (what seemed like) hundreds of pages of toys. Christmas is definitely for kids.

Oh the anticipation of the Christmas Sears Catalog arriving in the mail! Seems so long ago! (Gee, I guess it was, wasn’t it? Sigh!)

Dad always made sure the Sears Christmas Catalog disappeared as soon as it came in. Didn’t want to hear all the ooo’s, aah’s and sighs. You didn’t DARE say “I want” to him. You got what you got and be happy with it or ‘it could always go back to the store’. Now I’d just like to be able to be able to afford the trip to spend Christmas with the grandkids. Granddaughters ballet recital, grandsons kindergarten “holiday” play and the 2 little grandsons first Christmas that they are old enough to know whats going on.

Now my kids go online to “browse” the Christmas toys! The times, they are a changin’!

I can remember when most department stores only had a Toy Department between Thanksgiving and Christmas. The rest of the year, you might find one aisle with some puzzles or dolls, but that was it.
