Hey, if you get far enough right and far enough left on the political spectrum you can be closer to each other than you think. Check out the headline on the newspaper the homeless guy is using for a blanket.

The spam here is ridiculous. It’s getting so the actual comments are lost in the “noise”. For god’s sake GoComics, please add CAPTCHA!

I wonder if GoComics isn’t profiting from all this spam.

That’s 9 pieces of SPAM flagged in this one comic! It is becoming epidemic. Pretty soon, GoComics is going to lose all its readers if this doesn’t improve.

Regarding the cartoon. Yes, the far left and the far right DO come full circle and end up in loony toons land where they belong. They SO deserve each other, and I’d love to find a nice isolated island for them.

Uninspiring as the Obama presidency has been thus far, it is infinitely better than the Bush presidency - and it HAS achieved some positive results. Not to the righties, of course, but then the first breath he took was an insult to them.

To some extent, I have been disappointed by the Obama Administration, especially by their legislative priorities and coddling of big money interests. They have, however, done many impressive things through executive powers, far too many to list here.

    @mattro-

Ubfortunately he;s using executive powers fo far too may of the same things Bush the W used them for. And when it comes to simple biggies like closing Guantanamo and issuing a stop-loss on DADT, we’re where we were 10 yrs ago.

I’m with the Lady in Blue and I suspect Rall is too.

IBD editorial, 11/01/10 is on www.realclearpolitics.com under “clear markets” today….. nearing 2 years of the Obama Economy, the highest growth todate was 2% GDP…..July–Sept.’s was a mere 1.7%….or $66 Billion…but $47 Billion was businesses restocking depleted inventories….

and FEAR of Obamacare keeps business from spending, hiring or expanding….leaving Unemployment …”an army of about 15 million people”….in a “growth recession”…. and pending TAX HIKES on businesses is another barrier to growing the US Economy!

the current GDP is $1 Trillion less than normal….at $13.26 Trillion @ year level……the Obama Economy!

Fire the Democrat Congress and the Democrat Prez ASAP!

bass flagged him a half hour ago & it’s gone now, but there’s one after him. I’d say that’s evidence that uClick/GoComics is working on it & the evil one is responding with an increased barrage. Just flag’em & move on. Can we talk about the comic now?

Nixon said that if they’re shooting at you from both directions, you’re probably in the right possition. He was right ónce in a while.

Disgusted taxpayer, During the Bush II years, around 8% of the economy was fueled by the creation of new money by lending against inflated home values. (up to $1 Trillion/year in 2005 in a roughly $12 T GDP). The bill was bound to come due.

The ‘real’ economy was shrinking during the Bush II years, which is reflected in the downward direction of middle class wages. The shadow banking sector was busy extracting wealth, in part by dribbling enough out to public gamers to keep the system churning. Anyone who extracted ‘equity’ from their home and now finds themselves underwater can be a poster child for these years, along side the financial sector whizzes that goosed the system…borrow on juiced up appraisals, spend or gamble freely, get caught holding an empty bag after the party is over.

The banking sector would like to re-inflate the balloon/ bust machine, and those who argue for a return to the make-believe, keep-the-big-con-going economy of the Bush Ii years are begging for their own further destruction.

M Kitt, Just FYI, the Bush spending was kept off the cash-based budgets and budget reports, but has always been readily available in the U.S. Government’s Financial Reports which are accrual-based.

The Financial Reports mostly account for all of these expenditures–a good reason to switch to accrual-based budgeting and reporting.

I don’t think it’s asking too much just to have Obama be a Democrat. Remember those? The ones that actually gave a bleeep about real people?

    Well, I can dream, can’t I?

My main man Obama will step it up and stop those stupid rethuglicans once and for all! Even if we lose the House we can then use our allies in the media to paint the GOP as even bigger obstructionists and get Obama relected in 2012. THAT IS ALL THAT MATTERS!
