Man: In France, cities are burning because they want to raise the retirement age from 60 to 62. America truly is the greatest country. They retired me at 28!
Woman: 33 here.
@human: Very good satire. And you do raise an excellent point; American companies are out-sourcing their manufacturing, and demanding lower taxes, all to benefit the owners and shareholders. But they’re selling to customers whose wages aren’t going up as fast as the profits.
For your own sakes. PLEASE go and vote this week! But first, look at the parties’ and candidates’ actions (not their promises), think about what those actions will mean to your job and your quality of life, then vote for the party that you think will help you. Whichever party you, as that perty’s potential employer, believe will look out for YOU is the one to vote for.
The treat is that you get to help choose which employee to hire/candidate to vote for. But remember, they’re ALL trying to trick you; so you have to look behind the promises to find each candidate’s and party’s real agenda, because you know those same promises will be back next election, no matter what the candidate says or does between elections.
Happy Halloween! And remember: democracy is not a spectator sport!
