Indeed. These days, I drink coffee (and tea) as much to be holding the warm mug in my cold hands, than for the drink itself – if not more so.

Who keeps the same 16 oz all day anyway? Most would have at least 2 or 3 refills and all in less than 8 hours.

If you’re not going to drink it, why lug it around all day?

My mug (a present) has the caffeine molecular structure on it but not the name. It was bought at a US on-line shop (we are in Europe). My husband had the surprise of his life when he got a call from a customs officer asking him to explain what that container was and was he smuggling in drugs (that’s when we learned that caffeine is a psychoactive drug!). I think it was the first time as well that customs saw the caffeine molecular structure instead of more dangerous drugs.

I retract earlier statement about loss of icons on right end of comic strips and missing comments access. All are present on spouse’s pc. and on laptop.

Obvious glitch in desktop pc software, especially since recent firefox update.

    Apologize for complaints

I am hugging a warm mug of coffee, inhaling the steam and scent as I read this. Different approach indeed.

There’s a lot of stuff in this world I just don’t get, and an alarming amount of it is about myself. One such example is my fascination with, and susceptibility to marketing of, beverage containers. Especially hot beverage containers.

It is true I like my coffee. A lot. But what’s also true is that I drink probably 90% of it as soon as I make it, in the form of espresso, an ounce and a half at a time and consumed in the corresponding amount of time it takes to consume an ounce and a half of such wonderfulness. And if I do have an American-sized cup of coffee, half the joy of it is holding onto the warm mug, which doesn’t really work with one that’s super-insulated.

I do, of course, have occasional use for a good insulated coffee vessel. In fact, a couple of good uses: One is for warming myself up from the inside outward during or immediately after swimming in cold water. The other is for long trips in a car when I’m at risk of that classic modern stupid move of driving while fatigued. And I have bottles that work wonderfully for both tasks, that seal and unseal easily even with frozen fingers or a brain that’s concentrating on operating my motor vehicle. But … but … what if there’s something out there even better?

I will try it. And then I will make fun of myself in my comic strip.

I may be taking liberties with the timeline here.Frazz by Jef Mallett for Dec 9, 2017 | GoComics.comDec 9, 2017gocomics.com
