“sharp prodding stick”? The stick Milo has in his hand is a harpoon. The “prodding sticks” used to move elephants are neither sharp or harpoon shaped. The head piece looks more like a printed “r” and is used to guide, not prod. How long do you suppose a several ton animal will put up with being poked with a sharp stick, especially one that is not restrained.
