People feed ducks and geese bread. Then they get a condition where they can’t fly.

Noticed signs at some city, state, federal parks prohibiting or recommending against feeding bread (occasionally other foods) to ducks and geese. A caretaker told me some commercial and home breads contained ingredients became toxic inside the birds.

I recall feeding bread to my chickens when I was a kid. I had many of various breeds (some mixed) and sizes. At times they seemed sluggish and on occasion sickly. A vet told me stop feeding them the bread. Afterward they seemed fine. Maybe nowadays why is known.
