Yeah, when I was a kid (’62) we went to Yellowstone where the Rangers warned us not to eat the mushrooms. Seems there had been some Europeans who came over seeking mushrooms to eat but what is good to eat in Europe will kill you here.

Truffles may be an edible fungus, but parasitic on oak roots and totally underground, they do not have a mushroom shape as in the cartoon.
