Bbear, any sign of that warehouse fire coming under control? How come it’s OK to breath the air but all that stuff was closed down? Was the broken water main fixed? Are you still under a boil water advisory?

Today’s fire update: the governor of West Virginia declared a State of Emergency. This allowed state help in the fire fighting and cleanup to follow. Yesterday’s inch of rain actually hurt the efforts. 1) it drove the smoke down into the fire and forced the firefighters and others out of the area until it cleared. 2) last night, the smoke combined with fog in the Ohio river valley to create a dangerous effect. My brother had to breathe through a wet t-shirt and he was inside the house! I was asleep and using a double-filter cpap machine.

The company hasn’t disclosed what was stored in the warehouse. The fire Marshall can’t rule out arson yet (too soon). The state is bringing in air testing experts. Meanwhile, there are areas of the fire they can’t reach yet. A company in Pennsylvania is bringing in excavators and shovels to help reach the fire. They are supplying pumps to bring in water from the rivers.

The Federal government’s Department of Fiscal Services remains closed (5,000 workers), that’s where Savings Bonds come from. Schools remain closed.

It’s probably just a rousing game of “smack-bat”. Ours take turns swatting at each other or batting the other on the head. Then one of them licks the others’s head the they go to sleep.

I believe there is a special place in hell for people who abandon their pets.
