Yes – but our space there is very small. We live in a flat and have only tiny storage closets down there.
Oh, yes – and one room with a normal-sized washing-machine needing coins. No dryer, no drying-space; for drying your laundry, you have to carry it upstairs – 6 floors up to the attic.
Well, at least Elliot will grow up with the idea that it’s not just mommies who do laundry.
I’m so glad phrases like “women’s work” are mostly only used ironically these days….
cos they were still said without a trace of comedic intention in my teens.
Nope, Tony, no basement.
And I have to do my laundry about 4 miles away at a laundromat.
Tigressy… that sounds difficult!
Do you have some sort of elevator, or do you actually have to hand-carry wet towels and sheets, maybe even wet comforters and curtains, up all those stairs?
What happens to those who get old or infirm?
At least I can drive to the laundromat, and do several loads at the same time.
We don’t have a basement, either. We have plenty of water, but our septic can’t handle a washing machine, so we also go to a laundromat. Every tenth load is free, so it’s not bad. I prefer to use our solar dryer (clothes line) as much as possible, but we do have an electric model in the utility room.
Basement accessible only through a trapdoor in our closet; however, we do have a washer and dryer in our apartment, courtesy of our landlord (high efficiency, no less!)
We have a basement but washer & dryer are on the main floor. The dryer was brought from our previous house where it had been since it was built (1964). It’s a gas dryer and apparently made to last forever.
I’ve never had a basement. I have, however, always had a laundry room with a washer and dryer. After reading the comments, that seems like a luxury I never realized I had.

Yes we do. The laundry room is next to the server room / office which is right off the workout area which is next to the media room.

No basement. Very few basements around this area due to high groundwater.

No basement. I have a washer and a dryer that I purchased. For I hate going to laundromats. When I was younger thats all I used.

yes, and it’s finished with a nice man cave, laundry, spare eating area and a spare bed room.

Be grateful you have a washing machine and dryer. Some of us still do laundry by hand and hang it in the bathroom.

No basement but at least the laundry room is only about thirty feet from my door. Machines are coin operated.
Oops, no quarters. Not to worry because…
Wait for it…
There’s an app for that. Yes now we can download an app that lets you activate the machine remotely by scanning the machine’s Q-code.
