Thank goodness nothing remotely like that has actually happened.

I always want to ask these flag-waving super-patriots why they are so devoted to the government they keep stockpiling weapons to overthrow.

3% own 50% of the weapons. We need to stop this minority from terrorizing the majority.

“A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.” Funny, I don’t see anything about “Tyranny” in here, do you??

Funny, when you speak out about gun laws to reduce violence you get death threats from the NRA’s gun nuts. Such upstanding Americans!

Looks like the NRA used the First Amendment – freedom of money, to take over the government in a tyrannical way. So should we use our second amendment rights to force the government to come up with sensible gun laws?

Obviously, the problem here is that there aren’t enough guns in America.

Why do we need a militia in 2017? 1780 yes, now…No. Most powerful and expensive military in the world eh?

From 2011-2016 18,000 Americans were shot. In Chicago alone. 3600 of them died.

What about us non gun owners? Could we have the right to not be shot in going about our everyday lives?

Actually, I’m pretty sure that the motivation for 2nd Amendment distorters is the other way around: Individuals armed to prevent the tyranny of the government from making them do something they don’t want to.

The situation that Davies describes has led to a super-armed minority, the consequences of which we see bubble up every few days.

Chicago gun-deaths are not ‘germane’ because Chicago has never been in the Republican ‘camp’ so they are safely ignored. And I’m truly surprised to see arguments from the Right, here, that use the “you can’t block guns from OTHER COUNTRIES from entering America so it’s useless to block them at all!”argument. This argument is from the SAME morons that vociferously argue that all we need to keep out illegal aliens is a “beautiful” southern Wall – they somehow miss the irony (and the stupidity) of both arguments!

We do know what doesn’t work:

GOP’er are the first to cry “Mental Health issues” when a non-brown murders a bunch of people. So they should be on board with reopening the mental health centers that Ronald Reagan had closed.

(Which lessened the availability of mental health care and put many homeless on the street.)

The GOP / NRA doesn’t want the CDC to try to determine what the causes of gun deaths are. We should reverse that.

    http://abcnews.go.com/Health/cdc-launched-comprehensive-gun-study-15-years/story?id=39873289

    https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/storyline/wp/2015/01/14/why-the-cdc-still-isnt-researching-gun-violence-despite-the-ban-being-lifted-two-years-ago/

Some will claim “Guns stop murders”. But there is no proof of that. And Tucker Carlson’s The Daily Caller isn’t proof.

At this time, there is no central source of gun crime reports nationwide. We need to create one. FBI? CDC? ATF? are all possibilities. That may aid in finding the causes of gun crime.

End the drug war. We lost. Addiction is a medical issue, not a police matter. All it does now is fund gangs that buy more guns.

Add “ID taggants” to ammo. ID the buyers and limit the amounts of ammo bought.

“Gas Operated’ reloading guns should not be available to the private citizen. SWAT teams at the most.

The patchwork of State laws has failed. Gun control needs to be at the Federal level.

That’s just off the top of my head.
