Pretty much how they see it. Get a gun and protect yourself and your family they say, but odds favor you actually getting killed or injured more if you have a gun. Stories of people actually competently defending themselves with a gun are many, but few in comparison with all the gun deaths and injuries, many committed by and on children. Is that old cowboy mythology really worth the rising number of mass shootings? Is some idiot’s desire to have some kind of manhood validation tool really going to outweigh other people’s right to life?

Gosh, in that enormous crowd, there wasn’t even one Good Guy With A Gun to stop the shooter?

With that big a crowd, there must have been lots of them. Where were they?

A seemingly unrestricted Second Amendment is not the price of freedom, it is the price of stupidity. Nothing will change pending a bigger massacre.

Reminds me of conservative darling G Gorden Liddy as a talk show host years ago. “Head shots! Head shots! Kill those sons of b-tches!” Oh, he was a classy guy!

The NRA wants a gun in every pocket so you can stop your own bad guys. Nothing will change because they have the most powerful lobby in Washington. Any talk of new gun restrictions will be crushed. Sadly, this is the new normal.

Somehow, it’s not funny a couple of days after the massacre in Las Vegas.

MASTERSKRAIN was wondering, earlier, what had happened to “…a well-regulated militia…” in the very beginning of the 2nd Amendment? Well, MASTERS, when the Constitution was first “penned” (quilled?) the idea was for America to NOT HAVE a standing military force but just have a bunch of loosely affiliated “armed” men in each state on standby, as it were so, if needed, they could be called up. Our various State National Guards are an example of this forethought – THAT’S what the 2nd Amendment is referring to – not that every Tom, Dick and Harry that can scrape up enough money to buy a gun should have one! That particular piece of the American Constitution has been “interpreted” out of all recognizability! Left-wing “originalists” on the Supreme Court would have a field day with this; Right-wingers (like Scalia was) wouldn’t touch it!

The GOP sees you as little more than a wallet and target practice. Your kids are the price of Reich-wing freedoms

It looks like the shooter used a legal modification to an AR-15 to mimic auto-fire.

I comment as a gun owner who thinks there need to be some restrictions. First of all, people with diagnosed mental conditions should not be allowed to own guns. Second, assault weapons should be only in the hands of the police and the military. Third, No weapon undetectable by metal detectors should be allowed to exist. Fourth, Anyone selling firearms to anyone who does not have a legal right to possess one should be arrested and charged with a felony. Fifth, Sale of any firearm at any gun show must be prohibited.

Predicatble libel from yet another hypocritical left wing hatemonger, 4 million NRA member Bennet just falsely accused of murder, while out the other side of his mouth preaching hate crime violence against them and their families.

^ Quite right, Cube; just because they’re out to kill us is no reason for us to be angry with them.

You do know that there is this organization called NRA that uses the money from their members to defeat any chance for reasonable gun control in this country, right? Or are you just interested in the martyrbation olympics today?

Even with a concealed carry permit, you can’t carry a gun (legally) in many places, such as a concert venue or bar, or anywhere posted as “no carry.” It’s not those obeying the law you need to worry about.
