Why would it be a problem to have a multitude of chemical plants and sewage plants which did so little (or nothing) to prevent their toxins, sewage, and even explosives, from being spread all over creation? Free enterprise, y’know.
Gosh, why should Red Staters have to suffer just because they spitefully voted for the guy who’s destroying their homes and jobs? They should be bailed out again by the Blue states, with an apology.
Before you condemn an entire region, please keep in mind that those areas also contain people who DIDN’T vote for the Lunatic-in-Chief, and they are suffering too. Don’t sink to his level of divisiveness.
Let’s have zoning that keeps us building, and rebuilding, in FLOOD ZONES, what could possibly go wrong? Of course, we western folks keep rebuilding after fires in chaparral zones where nature burns things off every 10 years or so, including houses with brush right to the doors. We CAN build to prevent flood or fire damage, and manage the lands for same, but why reduce profits or environmental damage?
SJLDOESNOTSPEAKFORME, this isn’t about “bayou water”. The problem is the toxic chemical soup that is in Texas because of the lax regulation of industry in that state.

EPA chief Pruitt is using EPA agents as body guards 24/7 to protect him, cause he can’t gut the agency fast enough, assigning polluting industry lobbyists in key positions. Bill Wehrum, David Ross, Michael Doursen, and Andrew Wheeler are all being put forward to help run the EPA into the dirt. I hope all these men have children and grandchildren to inherit their legacy.

It’s God’s revenge on the Southeast for being sold GOP. Praise Jesus! Sinners must suffer. It’s in the Bible.
