    This is what Republicans wanted, less regulations so companies could make more money. Who cares if they make more by doing wrong, it isn’t like the government regulates corporate morality.

    Regulation is an attempt to stop looting by corporations after someone finally notices it.

    De-regulation bringing back that corporate looting because not enough political donors had a chance to get in on the action.

    Remember the mentality during the Bush 43 administration stating “Regulation is unnecessary because corporations are self-regulating.”? The faulty logic was that they would do no wrong because the negative PR would hurt their stock price. There were many factors that caused the 2008 bank panic. However, thinking Wall Street needed little oversight (Government just needs to get out of the way of business doing business) was definitely a contributing factor.
