Awww John you poor baby. Does this mean you have to get dinner for yourself and the kids? I’d have more sympathy for you if I didn’t know that in a reverse situation you’d expect Elly to just grin and bear it.

Every night this week? Elly is a part-time librarian, working as an assistant to the assistant to the assistant librarian (That is actually her title.) What is going on that would keep her out every night in a week?

Hmm! I wonder if Claire Stanton, that Elly spent time with during the librarian convention 3 years ago, is in town.

I find this a bit sobering, considering the fact that they got divorced in real life.

Why would he want any “together” time with his wife of over a decade? “Together” time does not last 10 years into a marriage! I assume what he is really saying is that he wants her there to cook him dinner & take care of him & the kids.

My ex-wife was so involved with her various projects and pursuits that she was too busy to celebrate my 50th birthday with me. It was one of the many little things that led to our divorce, the following year.

“My ex-husband wants me back” Anyone else received this flyer in the paper? It appears he wants her back because she switched to a different insurance plan. (Doesn’t deal with why she would want him back!) Some of these ads are turn-offs.

In a marriage, BOTH spouses are ‘required’ to be attentive to one another; Lynn in in a “no-win” situation here since no matter which spouse is depicted as being “too busy” in the strip, condemnation will swiftly follow.
