This is how most severely mentally ill people “cope.” They climb endless stairs to nowhere in hot pursuit of their delusions.
He will climb forever, not getting anywhere, but dragging everyone into the maelstrom of his insanity. The bottomless pit of his needy mental illness is appalling, and the length he’ll go to slake his bottomless thirst is dangerous.
