All media are free to make as much money as they can. As trump violated all standards of decency and morality, ratings soared. They are still high for all things trump. This is a lot like how the media covers violence, “if it bleeds it leads.” But real journalists at the New York Times, the Washington Post, CNN, MSNBC, and even The Wall Street Journal are also taking great pains to be accurate and factual—not only because it gets ratings, but because they have ethical standards they try to adhere to.
Needless to say trump has no ethical standards, but his mental illness has a lot to do with that. So far the republicans have also shown far lower ethical standards than the real journalists.
This was before a lying president convinced a full quarter of the population that fact checking and editors were fake, so they took down the media and replaced it with new that just told them how they feel is right. It must make the Reich-wing happy that Daddy Trump is keeping them safe from news that doesn’t back up what their gut tells them to be true.
Folks were saying the x-rated dossier of trump and golden showers was fake when we first heard about it. It seems it has been found to be substantiated and is part of an investigation as we speak. Trump claims all negative trump news is fake. OTOH, trump is a great friend of the National Enquirer.
VORPAL7, when CNN discovered that proper reporting protocols were not followed, those responsible were fired. MSNBC may be biased against Trump, but that is easy if you pay attention to the truth about Trump. They don;t lie in the stories that I have seen, the bias shows more in their disgust about Trump while reporting.
.When a couple was putting together a story for Fox and they discovered the truth conflicted with what Fox wanted and they didn’t want the story on air, Fox sued to get the story out. They used a distinction between opinion and news, yet Fox ALWAYS has news on the logo on the screen even during their opinion programs. Hannity continued with Seth Rich lies long after Seth’s parents asked him and Fox to stop.
@nance19… All true observations. But when you want to con people, you have to repeat lies until they become truthy. That’s trump’s approach and the “cons” have lived up to what is really the only appropriate nickname in supporting him and his lies. The Russians certainly conned us by suborning treason. And the cons in congress stand idly by. Stay tuned. Some of the cons are likely to be con-victed.
