I used to never notice the heat as a child, especially when we lived in New Mexico. By that time my dog had died. But I had a new part of the country to live in and enjoyed exploring anyway. When your childhood dog dies it is a real tragedy for the child. But I was 12 at that point and I loved the new surroundings. She died a few months before we moved. Since that I have had several wonderful dogs, the last one was half visual half English Setter. He was great. Now heat bothers me And I can’t have a dog in this tiny apartment. But I have had several pairs of pet rats, they are a lot like tiny dogs in that they show so much affection and are so smart.
