Yes, let Betsy DeVos turn you into a mindless sheep, unable to think or make decisions for yourself.

Yeah, if you just ignore them, they’ll go away, right?

There’s a crisis in our ritualized consumer indoctrination system.

Yes, little girl, you must move up through the ranks of “education” so that you can arrive finally at “Higher Education” which, upon completion, will have successfully eradicated all critical thinking faculties, filled your neurons and ganglia completely with cultural swamp water and eviscerated your moral fiber until you never know you ever had any, and your only aim in life is self-gratification in any form available.

Addendum to previous comment: I am PRO education as a lifetime pursuit of mind and spirit. The current system does not qualify as such.

I knew there was a reason I didn’t like the way schools are run today! I think they spend more time worrying about what the kids are wearing than what they’re learning. What happened to teachers who made kids think?

Back in 1958 my fourth grade teacher taught that whales are fish because the Bible says so, and she led a class discussion on whether or not dogs go to heaven. In eleventh grade English class, in 1965, when we were reading The Scarlet Letter, our teacher told us that illegitimate children are smarter and stronger and better looking than legitimate children because of the passion involved in their conception. And my tenth grade English teacher assured us that the Romans actually spoke Greek rather than Latin because Latin is too hard. But I did have some good teachers. My high school math teacher was very good and I learned a lot from him.
