On the contrary – most of the other vertebrates will go extinct (except the choice ones we domesticated and choose to keep alive and serving us) long before we humans die out.
Eventually the invertebrates will take over, but it’s not the cockroaches that will rule – it’s the ants. They are already organized and plotting!

In a billion years, descendants of the cockroaches will be examining our fossilized bones.
