I remember when candy bars were 5 cents. Then as sugar prices rose, they simply made them smaller and smaller until 5 cents got you half aTootsie Roll or an M&M. Then some marketing genius came up with “fun” size.
I only filled my coffee cup about 1/4th as that’s all I wanted but had every intention of paying the full price, but the nice gas station guy just charged me a quarter. Some reason I still remember this 20 years later.

Reminds me of an old Chris Rock routine about a poor guy in a fast food joint: “I only got 19 cents. How about a French fry and a sip of Coke?”
