“But OF COURSE it’s Obama’s fault. He used his super-secret magic Time Machine to go back and make sure that anyone who would have voted to kill the ACA didn’t get elected in the first place! Then he went to the Secret CIA Base on Mars and used his Illudium Pew-36 mind control ray to make sure the vote failed! Yeah, THAT’S the Ticket!!”
Then put in what Obama originally wanted. None of the 150+ republican amendments or impediments. Just go with what he wanted . That would be single payer. Like the rest of the civilized world.
“Trumpcare” may be the least of our worries. Trump is not POTUS, he’s proving his “business acumen”, as the CEO of the White Star Line he’s turning America into. That latest iceberg coming off Antarctica is representative of where he’s heading the country, and we’re all on board the Titanic.
It’s now been revealed that Trump is using taxpayer money to feed a disinformation campaign bashing Obamacare. The Daily Beast reports that money which is supposed to be used to encourage enrollment in Obamacare is instead being used the smear the program on social media.
The revelation is spurring Democrats to investigate the expenditures, as it seems they represent a concerted, covert propaganda operation by the Trump administration. Apparently, unable to legislatively repeal the ACA, Trump has settled on dismantling and sabotaging it from the inside.
having worked in a massive health insurance company for 9 years, I can tell you one thing – they profit from people being healthy or dropping those that are sick. Private health insurance, with shareholders and profit lines, means the health insurer’s number one focus is reduction of admin or benefit expenses. Admin expenses can only go down so far, so they look to cut benefit expenses. Benefit expenses come from nasty, expensive surgeries, tests, and ER trips (an especially large problem in the poorer sectors who don’t have insurance – the ER is their primary care physician)
So they tried, about 10 years ago, to reduce benefit expenses by improving people’s health. No goodski. How do you make a cardiac person give up their donuts? Raising premiums? Then they just refuse to pay, go uninsured, go to the ER, get free coverage or Medicaid coverage, and we all end up paying for them.
Care management initiatives have failed. I know, I ran the numbers on them. The only thing you can do is guarantee everyone is covered, fully, with full participation across the population, and with government oversight to ensure hospital chains and doctors are colluding to require tests that are unnecessary.
Need data. And folks to review it. Without it, we’ll continue to be one of the unhealthiest and most expensive countries in the world.
Ask yourself this – would you rather pay $600 in premiums per month, or $300 in increased taxes to cover health care? I’d take the $300 with 0 premiums a month and save $300.

Of course, refusing to promote the plan and then using that money to run ads against it are just SOP for the Trump administration.

Comedy. I love comedy. But why does it have to be our government that is the basis to much comedy throughout the world?
