Since Lio seldom vocalizes, though he clearly thinks, it is natural that a swarm of thought bubbles would be drawn to him. If he’d just stand still, they’d coalesce into a cloud with a little tail of bubbles leading down to Lio as if to say, “he thought.” But as like as not, there would be an image rather than words in the cloud, perhaps a heart or a lightning bolt, depending on how he ultimately feels about the bubbles. His thoughts are effervescent, not apt to coagulate into written language.

Where did the Bubbles acquire such hostility toward their creator, Lio? Have they been infiltrated by Alien Soap products?
Or did they just boomerang off the right frame of panel 2 simply by the laws of cartoon physics?
