He does tell the truth. He just mixes it with so many lies, half-truths, and completely unverifiable propositions that the concept of ‘truth’ loses meaning. The 36% or whatever that approve him will cheer loudly and shoot in the air at his utterances as long as they think they’re sticking it to somebody.
From the public’s view, politics has always been dishonest in our two opposing party system that make it literally impossible to serve 100% of the electorate with their desired legislation … and that’s ignoring the FACT that wealthy have a higher priority. Living in a fact-free delusion now seems real to too many.

Trump disciples absolutely do not care how many lies he tells or what they’re about.
They don’t care about any treason he may have committed.
They don’t care that Trump is using the presidency to enrich himself.
He feeds their hatreds of Mexicans, minorities, Muslims, Obama, Hillary, and libruls and that IS what they care about.
Somehow, if Those People can be put back In Their Place, oh how awesomely great America will be. Again.
