LOL I used to hate it when I was little and my mother would buy these “guest towels” and you had to be really careful not to dry your hands on them or touch them in any way for fear they would get ruffled up and look unpresentable. So many things in my mom’s house were this way—like living in a museum at times. I know just how Elvis feels when he says, “Even as a cat this seems excessively fussy.” Amen Elvis! Especially when it’s towels!

A couple of years ago we got our three kitties some High Quality Nip toys as a Christmas present/bribe for forgiveness for abandoning them for a week. To avoid having overly stoned cats debating toy ownership the toys spend most of their time in a drawer in the bathroom. Last time they came out, though, one got put back in the towel cupboard. I changed towels in the bathroom last week and then spend several days longer than I should have wondering just why the heck the cats were hanging around in the usually ignored bathroom so much and just why my bath towel kept ending up in the tub instead of over the shower rod.

Elvis, I don’t care if it’s forbidden. Floofy towels that have never been wet are the best and I strongly encourage you to cuddle up with them. This Woman who lives several timezones away has officially given you permission! ;-)

I would love to send some of my kitty mats to the boys if I knew how or where to send them.

Elvis is having a busy time. He saved Puck from the vacuum, checked for monsters on the top of the fridge, protected The Woman from the moon, and now has to prevent Puck from Doing The Forbidden. Even for a cat as devoted to Duty as he is, it must be a bit wearing.

Georgia posted a blog yesterday (http://www.georgiadunnstudio.com/ ) about the future of the strip. The entry title gives the gist: “All watercolors, all the time!” — for me, this is terrific news. Her watercoloring was always part of the charm of BCN, and in another week the strip will look better than it does now.

I’m curious to see if Pucky stays black or goes back to dark grey. Regardless of that, Georgia will be happier with her efforts and enjoying her work more, and that’s very much A Good Thing.

The best way to get a cat to like an item is to make it forbidden. Actually, guest towels are ridiculous, and Puck has the right attitude.

Nothing beats a basket of warm towels fresh out of the dryer.

I bought some memory foam bath mats for when I get out of the shower. They are nice and fuzzy too. I rarely get to use them but the cats and dog get a lot of use out of the mats. Every time I walk by the bath room someone is is making use of the foam and fuzzyness.

I never had anything forbidden for animals in my house. After all, I loved my critters! But what always puzzled me was when one of my cats would jump in my laundry basket of whites without fail – for some reason, he really loved the smell of bleached whites out of the dryer. Heck, I let him have it for half hour.
