What Bill said was improper. Just for the record though, he used the n with an e and o word, not the n with an i word. He was using it for the impact value just as he uses the f word. He did apologize. But of course you righties are not going to let it go.
Context, context, context. Maher was assuming the role of one slave talking to another. The way blacks might talk to one another and use the word. (like they do in 80% of every hip hop track) Sorry, Bill, you were too smart for much of your audience.
Bill is on HBO, which one needs to pay for to watch. Which is why they can show intercourse, foul* language, use real speech patterns, etc without FCC restrictions.Complaints are from those looking for something to complain about.

I couldn’t agree more. This should be a lesson for us. We should ditch the Electoral College so, next time, she who won the election would be our President instead of the sorry A/H.
Bill should have known better – if you aren’t part of the racial group that was oppressed with the word (even the diminutive form), you shouldn’t use it. But should he be fired? Using the case of Don Imus as comparison – Maher used the term for himself, not directed at another person, so in this respect, the situation is different. I believe it was an unfortunate slip, and he should do penance, but unlike certain FOX broadcasters (who tried to conceal their transgressions), I believe that Maher is aware of the gravity of his mistake, and honestly regrets it – so he should NOT be fired.

Anyhow Maher’s show is crap because he has almost the same guests on continuously and unlike the days of politically incorrect on comedy central he is exclusively a democratic party shill now.
