56 hours into the mission, at about 03:06 UT on 14 April 1970 (10:06 PM, April 13 EST), the power fans were turned on within the tank for the third “cryo-stir” of the mission, a procedure to stir the oxygen slush inside the tank which would tend to stratify. The exposed fan wires shorted and the teflon insulation caught fire in the pure oxygen environment.
I wonder if the original comic for today, delivered via email, was deemed unfit for display on GoComics. I mean, I usually read the comics while I eat breakfast, and that was a bit gross. Nonetheless, I do feel like I learned something, and have a new-found respect for chipmunks.
A moment later the chipmunk was sitting on its haunches holding THE SERPENT’S HEAD IN ITS DAINTY PAWS calmly eating it as it would an acorn or a hickory nut.
So here we are with this rerun of a recent panel, and I have now to go to it to look up my previous Comment, so that I may now come up with something fresh and scintillating. What a chore it is to be a commenter day-in and day-out here in Froglandia!
So, there it was, on 11 VI 17, all sassy and loaded with Comments from the Faithful Crew of the S.S. Teresa’s Gang, a privateering vessel pursued by more than 37 hostile comic marine forces…..
On the other hand, that Twitter link provided above by FlyingFlowerPot is a most unsavory tale of chipmunk murderousness, so I think I’ll stick to what appears here loaded in the pannier of the GoComics Beast of Burden.

There is a real panel for today. It showed up in my inbox, but not on the site.
It is an oddly satisfying bit about woodland creatures, by some odd coincidence.
I hope the matter is rectified soon. (Does rectified mean pooped?)
