Even with rich people buying seats I don’t buy this.
Voters may hate National politics but vote back their local congressmen. Especially since Gerrymandering almost guarantees re-election. My district could make it as a Rorschach test.
“The problem with the incumbents we have right now like Reed, Obama and Pelosi”
How is Obama an incumbent? He’s not even served his full term yet, this isn’t Palin we’re talking about.
“If you love your country more then a vision, then you can work with others and get more of what you want for your country and there will be more people defending what you built after your out of office. I don’t see Obama, Read or Pelosi having that.”
And you think the Republicans are really doing that by derailing everything? Then again I guess they are. One of the tenets of the Constitution is that every citizen gets the same protection of the law, but as we’ve seen, Republicans especially, and a few Dems, will go to great lengths to make sure there remain second class citizens. The only thing that matters are guns.
The problem as i see it is that basically the US is a center-right country as opposed to western Europe and Canada which are Center-left. Bush who did govern center-right so badly screwed up that the people elected with hope for a change a center-left government.
They got Obama/Biden/Pelosi/Reid who are governing center-left. To liberals not far enough center-left but they totally misread the country.
My guess this November we will see a shift back towards normal for the US. The House may be Republican. The Senate will remain Democratic and the country will shift back towards the center.
The problems we faced will not be solved and the left will scream bloody murder but the people want the problems solved but do not want their taxes raised.
The farther the GOP goes to the right, the more people they leave behind in the center. That’s why the polls show them losing support.
And so far all they offer are more of the same failed policies that led to $10 trillion of debt, a recession, two wars, and ever more of the nation’s wealth going to the already rich.
Some of us disagree with you, Libertarian. As I have noted previously, many of the liberal stands are held by the majority of Americans, including favoring healthcare reform (with more government intervention), getting out of Iraq and Afghanistan, etc., etc., etc.

Deferring to extremism and incumbent apathy aren’t necessarily the same thing.

Incumbents will retain their edge. It’s the razor blade of American political life the populace slides down every two years.

^But isn’t it usually the car swerving out of the way? I hear those fines are mighty hefty for running one of those things over.
