Up to four years as a larvae, then you’ll live a few minutes up to one week flying and f***ing, not able to eat anything and then you die.

Nothing to be done. Mother Nature is a cruel Mistress. Stop wasting your time talking to these schlubs and find a single mayfly of the opposite sex and do your job!

Mother Nature has no feelings so what we perceive as cruel is just doing business to survive. There are many strategies to survive and prosper.

My uncle said mayflies were my great grandmother’s secret trout fishing bait.

Better a Dodge Viper than a 1986 Yugo.Of course, the mayfly would likely survive an impact with a Yugo.
