Because he was getting too close to the Russia/Trump. He asked for more resources to continue the investigation and Trump responded by firing him.

Hmm. On numerous occasions the so-called president praised Director Comey for his service and then due to changes in circumstance fired him. So, you believe that the Prez can change his mind but not Democrats. Then there is the timing, just as the first subpoenas are issued and he might face impeachment he fires the guy most likely o get him fired. Coincidence? I think not. Lisa forgetting all of that. Coincidence? I think not.

The Democrats rightfully criticized him for his ham-handed approach to the email investigation, but I don’t recall them saying much after the election, other than regards to his reporting of the email investigation. Trump’s firing was a different matter altogether.

A scant few in the Democratic party every said anything about Comey needing to resign or be fired. So yeah.. maybe four did say something, but I doubt if many (if any) others did.

Comey acted politically when he publicly spoke about receiving the 40K emails even though they had found nothing in the thousands of emails they already examined and did not say anything about an ongoing investigation of the Trump organization. When he recently asked for more funding to expand the Trump investigation he immediately got the boot. Clearly dictator Trump is trying desperately to hide something.

Comey needed to be replaced.. The reason each party used to justify that choice is what’s disturbing.

The trump wants.. desperately.. to stop the investigation into the Russian connection before it totally exposes him as the fraud he is.

What is amazing is that conservative cartoonists are literally regurgitating Trump’s tweets. It is as if they have surrendered all independent thought and have become the propaganda arm of the White House.

After almost a year, who knows how much money,man-hours, and other agency resources, still no evidence of Russian interfering in the election.Comey said so on live TV several times when asked by several different Democrats in the House and Senate.

IF, and it is a big IF,Russia did anything it was to show the DNC for the Bernie Sanders back stabbers they are with the emails published by Wikileaks.

The only way they could change the out come of the election is by hacking into the electronic vote count precinct by precinct. County by county. State by state.

If they didn’t do that, what is you liberals point of going on and on and on about something that did not happen?

The whole thing has been ginned up by the left for the consumption of the easily duped.Who can not seem to get over the fact that they have been losing elections at the city, county, state, and federal levels since 2010.

    @DENIS112

Do you think that criminal investigation is a tv show where everything is neatly rapped up after 58 minutes?

You don’t think it’s worth the effort to find out if there are foreign assets at the highest level of the US government, up to and including the Oval Office?

How many years and dollars were spent chasing Whitewater, only to end up being an impeachment trial about the President lying about getting a bj?

We know the things that are corrupted by partisanship -—- (e.g) FBI, SCOTUS.,etc -—- yet we do nothing to have an ad hoc, unbiased, non-partisan group do the selection.

Tell me again the advantages of an opposed two party system where each party only represents about 25% of the electorate.

Simple explanation, so stop lazily parroting Trump.

They wanted him fired back at the start of the election. During that time, Trump was praising Comey for his handling of the Clinton Emails.

Now, however, Comey is right in the middle of investigating Russian connections in the White House, and WHOOPS! suddenly Trump isn’t happy with how Clinton’s emails were handled, and Comey is fired.

Are you really so stupid as to not realize that this is at least slightly suspicious?

Trump and company were warned about Flynn’s Russian connection and did nothing about it until it became public knowledge two weeks later. Trump was using an insecure cell phone to tweet his comments and did nothing about it until it became public knowledge a week after they were told. Trump doesn’t correct his errors until they become public knowledge and the administration and the GOP are only worried about how things become public knowledge and not what he does wrong. What else do we need to know?

If the firing had anything to do with Hillary’s emails, then it should have happened long ago. The most suspicious thing about it is the speed – Comey found out about it from TV! And this is right after Comey asked for more money and resources to investigate the TRUMP connection to Russia. Lisa, do you honestly think this doesn’t even have a whiff of corruption? Or do you still defend the Nixon / Bork Saturday Night Massacre?

Trump fired Comey because he didn’t pledge personal loyalty to Trump:

    .

Only seven days after Donald J. Trump was sworn in as president, James B. Comey has told associates, the F.B.I. director was summoned to the White House for a one-on-one dinner with the new commander in chief.

Mr. Comey declined to make that pledge. Instead, Mr. Comey has recounted to others, he told Mr. Trump that he would always be honest with him, but that he was not “reliable” in the conventional political sense.

By Mr. Comey’s account, his answer to Mr. Trump’s initial question apparently did not satisfy the president, the associates said. Later in the dinner, Mr. Trump again said to Mr. Comey that he needed his loyalty.

Mr. Trump did not say whether he asked Mr. Comey for his loyalty. Asked at Wednesday’s White House news briefing whether loyalty was a factor in picking a new F.B.I. director, Ms. Sanders said Mr. Trump wanted someone who is “loyal to the justice system.”The dinner described by Mr. Comey’s associates came in the early days of Mr. Trump’s administration even as the F.B.I. was investigating Russian meddling in the election and possible ties to Mr. Trump’s campaign. That investigation has since gained momentum as investigators have developed new evidence and leads.

Mr. Trump had met Mr. Comey for the first time in January, during the transition, when, along with the intelligence chiefs, the F.B.I. director presented him with evidence of that intervention. Mr. Comey was tasked by his fellow intelligence directors to also pull Mr. Trump aside and inform him about a secret dossier suggesting that Russia may have collected compromising information about him.
