Reminds me of when I was about 15 and was going to be treated to a nice haircut. Boyfriend (later hubby) threatened me that if I cut my hair he’d get his hair cut too (He had a long curl in front). I decided he couldn’t tell me what to do. When I came back, he stormed out and ended up with a crew cut which he still had 3 years later when we wed.

Marci, don’t do it! God gave you the hair He wanted you to have for His glory. This is our natural veil/head covering. Our hair (glory) is God-made. Everything else is man-made. Be happy and content with what God has given you and let it please your husband.
“long” hair means hair that has not been cut. That includes ANY type of cutting.
