Fact. Hillary pointedly took full responsibility for the loss in her recent interview with Christine Amenpour. To paraphrase Colbert, being honest and taking responsibility obviously made her unfit for the presidency in this election cycle. The deplorables obviously preferred dishonest sociopathic narcissism. And as is apparent from the last three months, they still prefer the insanity.
Resisting the slide into autocratic despotism led by an ignorant, conflict-ridden, traitorous crazy man is a clear definition of true patriotism. As for me, I’m glad there’s resistance to trump’s mental illness. I’m glad for the groundswell of resistance from millions of the educated and the scientists. I’m glad citizens are marching and protesting. I’m glad the right wing pols’ phone lines are still jammed up with resistance. I’m glad the NY Times, the Washington Post, the Boston Globe and other purveyors of fact are thriving. And I’m glad Hillary is resisting, too. As for me, I have a patriotic duty to resist. These folks are destroying my beloved country.
And oh my goodness, did I just call the trump supporters “deplorable?” Yup. Because they were, and, by any rational measure, they still are. Truth hurts. But facts don’t care if you agree with them or not.
