I have never read a “Basic Instructions” that didn’t have at least one laugh-out loud joke in it, including this one. The Portia de Rossi line was absoutely hilarious.
Portia being a lesbian* in real life is an intended part of the joke, right? Or is this just a solid gold coincindence?

Ryan, I think with the fact that Scott used “feminine” and “like a lesbian” in quotes, that this is a complete over the top slam dunk on some negative posters from the past. But I could be wrong, but rarely are there true coincidences.
Edcole, I agree that the LOL stuff happens nearly every time, but there are also some subtle items that really drive home the point of panel four. Five synonym references of fat along with a game piece is priceless. I nearly choked on a cup of coffee when I read …chessbishop.
