does he have a gun in the trailer? if so, “warning shots” might become literal?

The Toggle and Alex strips are by far Trudeau’s best series in years. Probably since BD got his leg blown off. Nothing else does it for me (sorry Zonker fans).

No, see, they’re wearing clothes. They probably just got really, really tired from hard work and laid down for a nap, and it’s very, very cold, so they snuggled for warmth. It’s still OK, Mike, you can relax, your daughter is safe.

I think Alex is not far off. She may be thinking of lucid dreaming. Some people can control their dreams. I wonder if it really works as a therapy?

I can’t speak to PTSD treatment and lucid dreaming, but I got rid of a recurring nightmare with lucid dreaming. Took two or three tries, but a consistent “kidnapped and parents don’t want me back” nightmare shifted into “saves self from kidnappers and parents never noticed I was gone because it took so little time to get away”. (Yeah, the childhood was a bit messed up, so that was the best I could do.)

I’m all for the healing powers of love and all, but, honestly, if you’ve got PTSD, you need to see a professional.

Yeah, Alex may be onto something with the lucid dream approach (it does exist, Joe Allen); but it’s not necessarily something to be guided by an amateur. Especially not when the scenario involved firearms.

Toggle and Alex sharing some shut-eye? How long has this been going on?

I always look forward to the Alex/Toggle strips - I’ve really come to care about this fictional relationship, and found myself really hoping Alex’s worries wouldn’t doom it. I’ve been liking BD since Phred captured him in Vietnam.

BTW, if the T-shirts are supposed to be old PT or undershirts, they are the wrong color (unless things have changed since I got out) - but you can buy all sorts of souveneer T-shirts at the PX/Clothing sales, so who’s to say?

my 2 cents canadian is,i don’t know much about lucid dreaming, but my my scary dreams seem to be resolving themselves with a pro-active and way better outcome lately. i’m approaching 60.maybe my spirit just figgers enough is enough. never went through war hell, though. so i don’t know much. semper fi

Call me old-fashioned (and I’d take it as a compliment), but the last thing either of them needs now is an initimate relationship”. The short-term benefit is obvious, of course, but the essence of maturity is foregoing immediate pleasure for a better future. The chance of a break-up is too great to up the ante like this.
