    Staking was only used in southern Slavic cultures. But in German and western Slavic areas the alleged vampire was beheaded and reburied with the head away from the body. For resistant cases, the body was dismembered and the pieces burned, mixed with water, and administered to family members as a cure. Granted, a little bit harder for special effects people on a budget …
