To tossed: CNSNews is not Politifact. It is a self-professed right-wing news outlet. And that URL is misleading, since there are less than 11 million undocumented immigrants in the country to begin with. It should read 6.1 million, since that’s Agresti’s claim. Though the URL does point out something true: this is simply a commentary, and has a very specific slant to it, as reasonable as Agresti tries to sound. It also makes no mention of how many more folks would be paying taxes if they weren’t, for instance, afraid of exposing themselves to deportation by doing so. What we need to do is clear: prosecute employers who exploit people’s undocumented status, and give those people a clear path to legal residency.
