I’m gonna bet that Gabby doesn’t know about Pavlov, who, before classical conditioning, was studying responses to taste in dogs. Salivation typically takes place after the taste receptors are stimulated – it doesn’t always have to do with sound, the phrase came about mainly because of smell.
