Men go to jail and loose their families all the time. Nobody sheds a tear.

It is the perfect job for jerks who are sociopaths. In times past they would have broken up families by selling slave children. I imagine.

Will Congress authorize this expense along with the cost of “the wall”?

“A lot of this is designed to put up numbers — but in doing so, you diminish the impact on public safety,” Sandweg says, adding that the new policies will “disproportionately impact non-criminals.”

    " …

Now, the way that Trump’s DHS will deal with this is by increasing the number of ICE agents — hence the tripling of them. But that is going to cost money. Sandweg estimates this could cost as much as $1 billion to $2 billion for the first year — because of hiring, training, equipment, and offices. Politico recently put the estimate even higher, at nearly $4 billion per year.

“Are Republicans going to give them the money?” Sandweg asks. “It’s on Congress now to fund this.” And Congress is already going to have to appropriate money to pay for Trump’s border wall.

What’s more, Sandweg doubts that even these increased expenditures would secure results that are worth that additional money. That’s because in the end, a large chunk of these additional appropriations might end up getting spent on removing low-level offenders. “Getting 10,000 new agents is not going to get you one-for-one bang for the buck,” Sandweg says.

    …"

“If we could construct a psychiatric Frankenstein monster,” Dr. Gartner said. “we could not create a leader more dangerously mentally ill than Donald Trump. He is a paranoid, psychopathic, narcissist who is divorced from reality nd lashes out impulsively at his imagined enemies. And this is someone as you said who is handling the nuclear codes.”

Asked to describe Trump’s lies, Dr. Lance Dodes tore into Trump.

“He lies because of his sociopathic tendencies that Dr. Gartner was talking about,” Dr. Dodes said. “He lies in the way anybody who scams people does. He’s tried to sell an idea or a product by telling you something that is untrue. … There is also the kind of lie he has that in a way is more serious; that he has a loose grip on reality. We can say that because he lies about things that aren’t;t that important. … I think what that indicates is that he can’t stand an aspect of reality that he doesn’t want. So he rejects it. His grasp of reality, his attention to reality is loose, an extremely dangerous trait in a president. It actually makes him unqualified.”

immigrants will stop working with law enforcement and we’ll see crime levels rise up to the fake numbers Trump made up. Even the church won’t be a safe place, not with the Republicans in charge. Schools will not be safe, and now it will be dangerous for people to go to church, school and use the legal system. Truly a conservative utopia.

Too bad we did not have ICE around in 1492 to keep the Eurotrash out.

@radish. Mental health professionals have known this for well over a year. The trump sickness is real, and really dangerous. Until enough Americans grasp this reality, the nation is in a special type of peril.

Normalization of mental illness is a societal shift in perception that must not stand. This is NOT about politics! This is an entirely different, and much more profound problem. I have my views on politics that do not enter my assessment of this very sick individual. The republicans are acting as though trump’s mental health is not relevant. Nothing could be further from the truth.

Wake up America! There is a clear and present danger to our fair land. A dangerous man has seized power because we lack the honesty and discernment to call him mentally ill.

What is called for is radical honesty. Honesty will serve as an antidote to the lies. Honesty will be painful, radical, even in this case. Honesty means being true to the evidence and not being dissuaded by shiny objects and con men. Honesty means not fooling ourselves about the pickle we are in. Honesty means putting country first, and not politics. Honesty means speaking up every time the liar-in-chief tells another whopper. Honesty means putting the facts in evidence on the table and assessing them dispassionately. Patriots of all types must stand up. Unfortunately, honesty means we must confront trump supporters without flinching, without politics.

Good luck, our fair land. We have a tough road ahead. Everyone search your conscience and be honest, now.

@TWCLIX How odd that a doctor diagnoses a patient without first being able to see that patient. Does he talk to spirits as well?

An easier and cheaper way to enforce immigration law would be to prosecute those who employ aliens not authorized to work here. If emplyers (like Trump hotels for example ) were heavily fined and/or imprisoned for employing unauthorized aliens, the flow of illegal imigration would cease.

I don’t know what kind of men and women would actually want to work for ICE these days. Regular gang of jackboots and bureaucratic automatons with nothing in their hearts but their namesake. I support our law enforcement who go after REAL criminals, but these guys are just a waste of tax-payer dollars.
