All this electronic media's ruining my attention span... I really need to get back into reading! I'll start with short series and work up too long form Russian novels! Good plan! How was the short story? Some woman won a lottery, but I fell asleep before I found out if it was a mega millions or just a pick four.

I also feel that I have to get back to reading books again. The internet is too easy and hard to give up.

And Shirley Jackson is spinning in her grave.

I read a lot but I like short stories mostly. I did read Anna Karenina though and it is long form, indeed. Took me 3 months, off and on, to slog through it. The ending sucked. Never do another one of them.

One of the best short stories ever written. There’s a filmed version available on youtube if you can’t stay awake to read it.

A clever literary reference to where we are headed…

I still enjoy reading a real book and not one in Nook format, although I do have a Nook. But then again I’m 57 so I guess I’m old school.

If you’re kinda misremembering Shirley Jackson’s very famous “Lottery,” Monty, shame on you! It is one of the all-time greats!
But the gradual re-learning to read is an okay format, though I’d work up to Charles Dickens rather than to the bleak Russians (see what I did there?)….
