    I read a lot but I like short stories mostly. I did read Anna Karenina though and it is long form, indeed. Took me 3 months, off and on, to slog through it. The ending sucked. Never do another one of them.

    One of the best short stories ever written. There’s a filmed version available on youtube if you can’t stay awake to read it.

    I still enjoy reading a real book and not one in Nook format, although I do have a Nook. But then again I’m 57 so I guess I’m old school.

    If you’re kinda misremembering Shirley Jackson’s very famous “Lottery,” Monty, shame on you! It is one of the all-time greats!

    But the gradual re-learning to read is an okay format, though I’d work up to Charles Dickens rather than to the bleak Russians (see what I did there?)….
