They are so afraid of anybody different that they are willing to send families back to countries where they will likely suffer and die shows the lack of Christianity.

Saudi Arabia is not banned, even though 90% of the 9/11 attackers came from that country. But, Trump owns a lot of property there, so it’s not included. Neither are other countries where he has investments. The president is more interested in what benefits himself than in what benefits this country.

Maybe Christians could learn from followers of a religion where they actually follow what they say. When was the last time you took in an immigrant, fed them and clothed them? You know what the hijab is for?

Our church has three houses on its property currently occupied by an extended Syrian family. This Sunday my wife and I and one of the priests from the parish showed up with flowers and fruit and cookies (they have a 6-year-old girl who remembers losing her doll in the fire that burned down their house – it was hit by artillery). The little girl likes the idea that she can walk to grandma’s without getting shot at. I hope that situation remains the same.

    .

Anyway, we wanted these people to know that not all Americans fear and hate Muslims or Syrians.

Are you people aware of the “Safety Pin” movement? It is where you wear a safety pin conspicuously on your outer clothing. The significance is that you are a “safe” person. If people seek your help, you will try to help them without asking them about their country of origin, or if they are here illegally or if they are a Muslim or if they are gay.

    .

It’s sort of anti-Gestapo badge. It’s an outward sign that you will not report them or turn them in.

    .

These people are afraid to report crimes or seek assistance because they fear persecution.
