This reminds me of my old Pontiac with an unreliable gas gauge. Just as my daughter asked me, “How low do you let the gas get before refilling?” – the engine stopped! So I replied, “When the engine stops.” The car rolled about a quarter mile, into the only gas station within miles; and I didn’t even need to touch the brakes as it eased to a stop beside the pump.
