The preponderance of “junk” news mixed with serious news on otherwise respectable network news broadcasts — local and national — has made me disdainful of those broadcasts. I mean, why is the menu change for MacDonald’s news, or the latest latte combination from Starbuck’s? Or movie clips and box office profits? Or topics that just happen to tie in with an upcoming news magazine program? Or the Kardashions? No wonder real news tainted with entertainment is a silly hybrid that no one has real respect for anymore.
