If you really want to create inflation, just set up a giant bureaucracy that increases its budget by 10% to 12% every year. Since it uses funds taken directly from the private economy, it will cause rising costs across the board with its budget that doubles every eight years or so. Breaking the economy is easy. Just throw the money away. It is the one thing that government does well. And people will demand higher taxation to compensate for the effects of excessive taxation, if they are properly educated.
