An impossible crossover between Marvel and DC, their Universes were just too different. But it was interesting to see how the characters interacted.

Now, it’s kid vs. kid to decide the best crimefighter.

There are two ads on this page wanting me to join the National Police Federation, who is seeking to become the official union for the RCMP. Interesting. I suppose RCMP officers probably read this strip.

You know; that has an air of truth? I remember Poul Anderson’s “The Time Patrol” where they go back millions of years to set up a base, then fully destroy it, when they’re finished to keep from leaving a record. What you wrote then, would be very plausible. Fascinating!

Everything I’d posted this morning seems to have gone kerflooey.

Slick site design, but sub-par functionality. And three days worth of lost comments.

Comments do not transfer over. We are in a new world, one we have to adapt to navigate well.

Fixed it. Uh-ho, no way to delete my own comment. We had better be very careful what we put down!

I don’t see my comics list the way it used to be. If i have to call up everything I see, daily, then it will be a verrry short list !

Without the Refresh function I have to rejuice the entire page. If this keeps up I may stop talking altogether in addition to reading less than a dozen comics on this site. Maybe it will get better ? ? ?

Hey, my comment about Eisner’s assistants is back~!!

I absolutely HATE this ’New and Improved Go Comics" site… took me about 2 minutes to figure out where in the blue blazes the comments were! What idiot greenlighted this revamp?

This isn’t near as good. I miss the “comics in a row” arrangement. While the “random” button is nice, it isn’t near as good.

Really? So, it took me about 5 minutes to read the 8 comics I read on here every single day, and now it is going to take forever. Do these people work for Google aka the people that break something at least once a week that was working perfectly fine? Ugh…

Of course Honeymoon is going to stick up for Pop Pop! I’ve noticed some of the names from the previous site didn’t transfer over accurately. Maybe the beta wasn’t ready to be a production release?

Hint: I guess it is necessary to go into your profile, and make sure your user-name transfers over accurately. I don’t really mind if anyone here knows my real name, but, for continuity’s sake, because of ongoing conversations that have developed over these years, I changed mine back to “Ken in Ohio”.

Thanks for the link to those Spirit “splash pages”. I am amazed that Eisner produced a 7-page booklet with that much detail every week!!

Does anyone know how those booklets were printed and distributed? In those days, most newspapers really didn’t have presses equipped for full 4-color work like that.

Gads! This new format is a nightmare!

People have been whining and complaining for a long time that they wanted threaded comments, but it’s going to make it a lot harder to read everything because they are not in order on the page, so it’s harder to find the new ones. Also, it does require a whole page refresh to see the new comments. That is one thing they might be able to improve upon for the future.

I see that the “Welcome to the new GoComics” blog post, which had mostly negative comments, now has no comments at all.

To fix your display name, click your profile picture (beside the magnifying glass in the top right), go to “My Profile” and click “edit” beside your name.

In case no one’s noticed it yet, under the banner atop the strip, there is a link on the right-hand side (looks like a mini-Earth) that takes you to the Dick Tracy Website.

Sammy and Honeymoon?! Will these two end up duking it out, or will there be a proto-romance?

I find the “replies” disconcerting. Why don’t they just appear without having to click a button? It’s too easy to miss them this way….

So…it has occurred to me like they are playing Spirit as younger than Tracy, which makes sense considering that the Dick Tracy strip has run continuously for 86 years and the Spirit’s appearances have been irregular since the 12 years it ran from 1940-52. Consider, for instance, if this crossover had been in 1949. That year, Dick and Tess married after a long engagement, Chief Brandon was replaced by Pat Patton, and Sammy made his first appearance in the Spirit strip. If Sammy had teamed up with anyone, it would have been Junior, who was just entering his teens, and not his daughter! That is, Spirit has aged much more slowly than Tracy.

Woo Hoo! All the comments DO appear! We can scroll through them! It isn’t like a little window, where you can’t see what appeared before without scrolling (as I had the impression it was when I looked at Beta a few days ago)!

Greetings all and especially to VB! I was unable to check in since Friday and while it’s taking a bit of getting used to, I do like the larger display format for the panels.
